A barrel aged Belgian-style dark blend. It’s complex, with some subtle oaky tones mixing around the maltiness that finishes with a tart fruitiness. It’s got vintage characteristics written all over it with much to be appreciated.

12oz pour served in a plastic Budweiser cup (one of the free beers offered by Ore Dock at the Michigan Ice Fest this year). Tan head obscures a distinctly cola-colored brew. The nose is sour cherry and dark cola. The palate opens with the same RC cola note as pervades the nose, with hints of sour cherry. An almost lambic or Flanders red like funk on the back end, but this is extremely hard to discern given how watered down the beer tastes. A very faint balsalmic character is present too. No oak or bourbon, as the reportedly "bourbon barrel aged" name would suggest. Overall, an extremely meh beer, that tastes nothing like a Belgian strong dark, nor like there was even a trace of bourbon barrel aging on this. It tastes closer to a lackluster Flanders-red that been mixed with water.
