I picked up a bottle of Ore Dock's Ski Bum Wheat for $1.89 at The Lager Mill. It's been a little while since I've had this style and I'm interested to see what Ore Dock can do with it, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Weizen glass.

A- The label looks very nice, it goes great with the name and I think it's eye catching. It poured a crimson red and slight amber color that took on more of a darker amber color when held to the light and it had a little over a fingers worth of slightly fizzy and bubbly tan head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left a little bit of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the wheat and malts being the first to show up and they impart a noticeable wheat aroma at first then it leads into the rest of malts which impart a a caramel, toasted malt, very light chocolate and creamy like aromas. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast and I don't pick up and hoppy aromas. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it's what I expect from the style and it has a nice toasted and lightly roasted aspect to it.

T- The taste seems to be just like aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the wheat and malts still being the first to show up and they impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma and they show up just as much. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast and that leads into a nice nutty aspects that I didn't really pick up in the aroma. On the finish there's hardly any bitterness with some more sweetness taking it's place and it had wheat, caramel, toasted malt, light chocolate and nutty aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer and it's just what I would expect from the style.

M- Smooth, pretty crisp, a little prickly, slightly creamy, medium bodied with a higher amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, but it would better if the prickly carbonation was toned down a little.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and I thought it was a nice and solid example of the style, it had all the aspects that I was looking for and nothing stood out as not belonging there for the style, all the aspects came together to make for a nice beer. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but anymore than that and the prickly carbonation might start to get to me. What I like the most about this beer is how true to style it is, it's just what I expect from an American Dark Wheat Ale. What I like the least about this beer is the carbonation, it's a little too high and prickly for the style J would buy this beer again when in the mood for the style and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the same. All in all I liked this beer and I think it delivered on it's description and I could see having a couple of these while skiing on the mountain. It's one of the better Ore Dock beers I've had and it's a nice and solid example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a tasty example of the style, Keep it up.
