Third beer in Marquette Michigan while in the kind of area for the Marquette University (Wisconsin). 20th baby. Its been almost a year since then, but here today, I went ahead and added this beer to this Next Glass owned database.
Poured a darker color than expected. Was close to being that Brown India Ale designation that DFH tried decades ago. Fetch reference. At its lightest, has a heavy crystal malt presence, at its darkest, just straight up brown ale. The aroma was neither super nor dank. Wasn't bad, just wasn't along the lines of the titular namesake.
The taste ok, there's some hops here, neat. Getting some greenery similar to the Columbus (CTZ) hop. Really competing with a sandwich amount of malt for a west coast ipa. Lacks the crispness you'd want from a lower malt bill.
I guess it was a collaboration with the local dispensary (I do recommend checking out The Fire Station if in Marquette, good quality and affordable, weedadvocate up in here). Explains the possible CTZ. Ultimately I found it to not be very west coast ipa like, not super, not dank. Just good enough to get by.
