L (4) – This beer poured a little darker/amber than I’d have thought, but it looks good. I know “lagers” don’t have to be light yellow, but still wasn’t really expecting it. Not a lot of head, but enough.
S (4.25) – Not a whole lot of smell here. At first. You get a wee bit of the smoke smell, and a nice little malt note. Subtle, but intriguing.
T (4.25) – This beer is interesting. Just the slightest smoke note. Mostly on the back end and aftertaste. Not nearly as much as I was expecting. Maybe a little bit more, but I think that they got this one right.
F (4.25) – Nice carb and mouthfeel. Light, fizzy, bubbly.
O (4.25) – I was scared of this beer at first. I’ve had BAD rauchbiers and I haven’t been overly impressed with Exile stuff. But I was pleasantly surprised by this. I’d certainly be willing to buy this and have some in my cellar.
