Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Reddish brown in color, with a light tan head and ruby highlights everywhere. Lots of sticky lacing as the head recedes. Notes of dark bread, dried fruit (raisins, figs) and tart black cherry on the nose and palate. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation and quite a bit of tart fruit lingering on the palate on the finish. This is not a knock-your-socks-off doppelbock, but it is a very pleasant wintertime sipper.

From the bottle around the fire in Riverside. Enjoyable bock, but could handle even further Christmas-izing.

Look: Clear ruby red with a tan head.
Smell: Hops and yeast; berries and pine with some earthy notes.
Taste: I tasted mostly cranberries and raspberries, some herbal notes, and pine/hops along with a sort of woody/smoky note.
Feel: Normal carbonation, medium body.
Overall: With the red berries and pine, I think it definitely "tasted like Christmas." I would certainly drink it again, found it enjoyable.
