Ruthie became a staple in the 1950s bar scene. Her tips were so exorbitant that they tried to impose a burlesque tax on her, leading to national fame and all charges being dropped.

Beautiful beer with fluffy white head and excellent carbonation. Smells of slightly sweet malt, also reminds me of freshly proofed dough. The initial taste follows that with a herbal bitter hop note. That malt disappears quickly and the herbal note lingers more than I would prefer.

Poured cold from a 12-ounce can into a thick-stemmed tulip. Clear pale golden color, with a thick white head that settled to a cap. Great lacing, good head retention. This has a good depth of light malt character, with a nice hit of herbal bitterness on the palate. Finish is dry, with a pleasant bitterness lingering for a fleeting moment. Light bodied, refreshing, great with food. Well done!
