Mine was the white baseball seam logo, not the silver pictured one here. Beer poured into a Super Bowl XXIV (1989) pint glass. Dark gold color with 1" full white head. Decent clarity. Qualifies as a good looking beer + cool label bump. A fractional bit of Citra hops peeks out in the aroma, but its mostly that Simcoe and Amarillo in proportion up in here (up in here).
Taste, well, I definitely liked this more than the triple ipa of theirs. Someone has to come in third I guess. Its mostly bittering hop and a heavier than expected malt body despite its innocuous appearance. The booziness was much more restrained than in the triple ipa. Had way more of a green hops feel to it than the older feeling triple. Definitely in the west coast vein, absorbed alcohol good, just wish it was a tad lighter and crisper.
Can't believe this place is out of business already, I was just getting used to trying their beers in 2024 and now they're just up and out.

An exceptional beer that is strong, but not harsh. I’d take a double any day! Such good hops, such good bitterness, such good acidity, and just completely awesome!

This has become one of my favorite beers. I'm looking at home brewing something similar.

Poured from 22 oz bottle into chilled glass. Colour is golden orange with an off white head. Smells a nice blend of hops, malts, and floral citrus. Taste much like the aroma with hint of bread or bisquit. Mouthfeel is a little heavy but still enjoyable non the less. Prost!

L: Pours hazy gold under a 2” white foam collar that dissipates to a thick, clingy film over 2 minutes. S: Some light citrus, light fruit, some herbal and light floral. T: Solid malt base supports big fruity hop flavors of melon and citrus with a big, assertive biter finish. Hop forward. No harsh or sharp hop flavors or bitterness. The malt and the big fruit flavors balance the bitterness. Some soft alcohol flavors. Medium to medium high hop flavors. Moderately high bitterness. Medium to medium low malt. Long lingering tropical fruit finish. F: Very creamy mouth filling texture, medium body, medium to medium high fine soft carbonation. Medium body. Slight astringency from the hops. O: A big, bitter DIPA.

16oz pint can split 2 ways - Societe Brewing 2nd Anny Glass
Notes taken on 12/23/2014
A: Golden honey color body with a touch of cloudy hop haze appearing through the glass. Nicely billowed stack of ivory white cream. Solid retention and lots of lace evident.
S: The aroma is encased with a malt sweetness. Like two parts bread with one part grains and a dash of caramel sweetness. Floral hops emit a soft fragrance there with some stone fruits included. Smells like a malt candy really.
T: Malt forward with more bread and toasted grain notes versus any hops. Light caramel and stale floral hops next. Fairly low bitterness to this one and just really lacking much of any hop presence all together. Some fruity elements in the background with a hint of alcohol spice. Really not all that great.
M: Heavy filling but not completely full bodied. Mostly slick and wet on the palate with not much bitterness to help cut all the malt sweetness. Finishes wetter with no resinous linger to it.
D: This was a Strike Out for me or perhaps a super old can. Its malty and filling with limited hop power. Just not that great. Not a likely repeat for me.
