Clear bronze bordering on brown with a small white colored head. It certainly isn't that pale.
Smells strongly of toasted grain and wheat bran. Scorched sugar and caramel with some toffee. Yeasty scent. Smells remarkably like a slice of Roman Meal bread.
Starts out mildly sweet with a grassy and woody after taste. Lots of grain and yeast flavors. Mild but assertive bitterness. The taste of this makes me think California Steam Beer. Flavor is a close clone of Anchor Steam. Caramel and toffee with easy on the tongue finish.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall a bit surprised at how good this tastes. Doesn't look like much but it sure tastes good.

Undated bomber poured about 40 degrees. Amber colored. Both hops and malt are moderated - this is an unpretentious, unassuming, easy drinking pale ale with a definite West Coast feel..
