Well I can tell this one is going to be the rare positive deviation review for me. This one drinks like a slightly lighter bodied Celebration Ale.
Pours a pretty dark red and brown color. Its got clarity despite being of the darker shade. 1" of off white head when poured into a Mammoth pint glass on the front porch. Gem. The aroma hits like a caramel crystal malt C hopped beer, replete with green pine and green grapefruit of the underripe variety.
Taste is like those old school india red ales. Who was that O'Dell's that had a india red ale? Its not Chinook hops like Celebration, but the Centennial hops here are very similar. Its that right amount of maltiness that hits solid citric rind and pine bitterness similar to many Sierra Nevada beers in their core lineup. I really liked how the mouthfeel was much lighter than the appearance. This one landed somewhere between Nugget Nectar and Celebration Ale for me, and that is elite red ale territory.

Had to review this cuz it's so odd. It'd be a very good red if not for the odd tabacco/leather/char quality in both the nose and the flavor. Looks beautiful and feels great on the mouth but that odd character really sets it apart

A big failure. I’d rather drink gasoline than this. It’s not a good beer. The best thing is that the foam clings to the glass, but other than that, I’ll pass.

Bottle from Raley's. Medium amber pour with small foamy head, fades to small skin with ring. Light malty aroma. Taste brings in some savory, peppery notes, has a bit of sting to it. Caramel and toffee too. Leather.
