Brewed exclusively for the Port Arthur Rotary Club Oktoberfest event. Leftovers were distributed to a few local taprooms and limited availability at the brewery. I was lucky enough to score a growler thanks to a little help.
A - Pours a nice copper/amber colour, finger of head with solid retention, and no real lacing.
S - Nice bready notes off the top, peppery spice, nutty notes also coming through, burnt sugar and grassy hops on the finish.
A - Bready caramel dominates, toasted almonds and nutty flavours, leafy greens, grassy hops, sour citrus lingers alongside toasted bread on the finish.
M - Medium bodied, smooth, crisp and a touch of dryness.
O - SGBC's first lager and definitely a winner. Easy drinking, loads of flavour and nicely captures the characteristics of the style. A limited release brew that is easily worthy of seasonal status. Fingers crossed this continues to make appearances in the future around this time of the year.
