Brewed for the OCB Beer Week collaboration tap takeover event at the Sovereign Room.
A - Pours a slightly hazy amber and brown colour with no real head or retention a little visible body carbonation.
S - Sweet candied lemons, rosemary, honey, burnt sugar.
T - Loads of candied lemon, followed by a solid but not overwhelming blast of rosemary. Reminiscent of sweet lemon iced tea with caramel malt notes and hints of musty hops on the finish. Higher ABV goes completely undetected, very smooth.
M - Very little carbonation, almost flat.
O - A well conceived ale with loads of flavour, which if it weren't for the lack of carbonation, would've been a stand out brew. The flavours paired fantastically with the style and this brew would be an unreal patio session ale. Recognizing the fact that only 20L of this made it to the event, I would expect a larger scale version of this to have the proper body. Fingers crossed this makes it to full scale production, because it really was delicious.
