Pours a deep mohagany colour with a large fluffy head. Malty nose with bits of smoke. The taste is malt all the way, very little hops flavour. Hints of molasses and toffee also on the taste. Thinnish mouthfeek

Thanks again Andrew for sending this my way.

Brownish-ruby colour, 1.5 fingers off white head, some lace. Smell is rich and malty, solid fruit profile, some plum and over ripe apples, nutty with some cocao, decent hop bill secondary. Taste is like the nose malty and rich, caramel and toffee flavours similar to the five cent candies at 7-11, mild bitterness, lightly chocolatey and roasty, fruity/nutty aftertaste. Chewey medium body, medium carbonation. Really quite nice, flavourful, not a style I reach for all that often but this is a solid offering with little to be desired.

The latest release from Thunder Bay's only brewery.

A - Pours a slightly hazy dark copper colour with an amber hue, thin layer of head with little retention or lacing.

S - Heavy malts, caramel, hints of chocolate, black licorice, mild peat and smokiness alongside hints of grassy notes.

T - Flavour is dominated by dark cocoa and caramel, hints of smoky peat and black liquorice, grassy hop notes with a creamy finish.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and a touch of dryness.

O - Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the offering. Solid flavour profile, loaded with malty goodness, easily sessioned and a solid example of the style. I hope they continue to produce different styles to help expose the beer drinkers in the region to all the different brews available.
