On tap at the brewpub. Served in the really big and fat Pilsener glass for three bucks on Saturday night! Clear golden color. There is an excellent hoppy aroma. Brewer notes that the hops are Chinook with some Falconer's Flight blend added for flavoring.
Clean and tangy flavors with a pleasant hoppy zing, but quite low bitterness. Flavors are all very subtle, but the grainy, slightly resiny taste doesn't wear thin. there is just a slight bitterness at the end, but it's enough to be refreshing. The malt adds a little sweetness, but the body is light.
A well-made entry in the search for a tasty but lower alcohol beer. This would be at home in an English pub after the carbonation de-fizzes a little. This is the best Hillcrest beer I've had, and I hope they'll explore the lighter side for a while.
