Amber brown color in the imperial pint glass. Modest head and pleasantly spritzy on the tongue. Light body but a nice mouthfeel with plenty of flavor for the lower alcohol.
Interesting clean flavors with an odd twist that is hard to place. A little tangy to go with the mellow malt. It's quite grainy tasting, and a little on the sweet side. Some dark roast. Just a touch of butter. Not a bad Brown Ale and certainly better than the average brewpub versions. Quite drinkable and more flavorful than a lot of others.
This is one of the first few beers they are brewing at the new brewpub. They are supposed to supply this to Mo's in Hillcrest as well.
02/24/2013 update: This seemed really bitter with the same hops they use in every beer. Would be more driinkable with half the bittering hops. They say it has 40 IBUs.
