Succulent pear pops in this - interesting what saison yeast can impart. Doughy cereal notes. Tepache-redolent pineapple and unrefined sugar. Attenuation is off for a Hefeweizen, but then the point here is not to be on-style - so no, there's no citrus, banana, clove, bubblegum, or similar.
As a didactic exercise in showing how yeast - including the "wrong" yeast - can shape a beer, it's interesting albeit deliberately not to style.
I can't say I love it, but it's not a Hefeweizen proper. It also seems filtered, which is odd...that'd make it a kellerweizen in my book.
