Pterodactyl Deathscream is full of late-addition Citra and Ekuanot hops. More of these, and Simcoe as well, are added as dry hops during active fermentation and again at the end of fermentation. It’s juicy tropical hop goodness screams in your face

12oz can, no apparent freshness date. Thanks to my friend, Derek, for giving me a can to try. Brilliant hazy apricot-amber colored body with a frothy ivory colored head. Floral bouquet, tropical fruit, and zesty citrus aroma with some nice malty & grainy sweetness. Complex flavors include caramely malt, pineapple, zesty grapefruit, floral orange blossom honey, and mango. Full body, moderate hop resin, alcohol is warming, quite a balanced finish. This beer has some great qualities with a nice malt backbone melding well with the DDH flavors. I'll buy this again if I see it.

11/3/18 (Okemos, MI): 12 oz can poured into snifter, gift from brother. Murky blond pour, generous cloudy creamy white head. Strong orange hops aroma and taste, very sweet offering. Dry mouth feel, overall very good offering.

I'm being generous because I got this on 2/25 and the sticker says enjoy by 2/28. I'm also -- despite recent Chicagoland brewing tradition -- not going to take that fact that this is a double-dry-hopped IPA to mean New England style. That said, its pour (from said 12 oz can) is hazy, though the feel isn't particularly unfilitered. Taste is undeniably malty, much like Two Brothers' Hopcentric (ex-Hop Juice). There is a floral juicy quality to the taste, but not what I prefer. I would recommend this to Hopcentric fans, but I prefer a bolder hop nose in a standard DIPA, and definitely more juice in a NEIPA (like Mikerphone's DDH).

Does not look like an amber or red ale. Pours a yellow orange color with two fingers worth of white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is similar to the aroma with tropical fruits and citrus bitterness. Medium body and crisp carbonation. Overall a pretty decent DIPA.
