16 ounce can into a snifter. Had 12/25/20. #FOBAB at home.

Pours an opaque dark brown, with a quarter inch foamy head and light spotty cling. Aromas of rye whiskey, roasted malt, molasses, tobacco, chocolate, oak, raisins, light char, some caramel. Smells great. Tastes pretty good, too- rye whiskey, roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, caramel, oak, raisins, tobacco, some brown sugar, light vanilla. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.

Have not had any of the other versions of Black Pit, but man, this is a winner. Great barrels, lots of rye, lots of roast, terrific aromas and flavors. Glad I was lucky enough to get this.

Pours pitch black, opaque, and semi-viscous. Three finger velvety head forms on top of the beer, lingers momentarily, before dissipating leaving just a thin layer of foam on top of the beer. Very nice looking beer for a barrel aged stout.

Aroma has notes of dark bakers chocolate, roasted malts, spicy rye whiskey, oak and wet wood all coming through on the nose.

Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted malts, spicy rye whiskey, oak, wet wood, dark chocolate, tobacco, and some dark fruits. The barrel presence and the rye spice in particular, is quite dominant in the aroma and taste. The underlying stout is a very dry, roasty stout, bordering on ashy. There is an alcohol warmth to the beer that builds as the beer is consumed.

Feel is medium to full bodied. Semi-dry especially on the finish. Very mild carbonation.

Overall this is a really nice, well done barrel aged stout. Definitely enjoyed drinking it.
