Served in a snifter at the brewpub.
The already-pretty-tasty Andromeda has been aged in Koval Dark Rye whiskey barrels. Alright. It pours a very dark black-brown topped by a half-finger of tan foam. The nose comprises blackened pretzel, brown sugar, very light maple syrup, light roasted malts, and a hint of whiskey. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a bit of vinyl/rubber. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a generally solid beer, but I think the barrel did the base a bit of a disservice, what with the now-additional rubber flavor. This is a small aspect of the beer, thankfully, but it certainly holds things back a bit.
