I received a crowler from @woemad in the NBS BIF #9. It was filled on 3/29/2019. Poured into a pint glass. It pours an attractive orange-amber color, slightly hazy, with a half finger of fluffy, eggshell-colored head and lacing. Myriad tiny bubbles ascend the glass. A subdued nose; mostly malt with just a whiff of grapefruit and floral hops. It opens with a solid base of malt but quickly becomes quite bitter. As the glass warms I notice some pineapple and grapefruit. The Mosaic hops bite hard and leave a decidedly bitter finish. This ale features lively carbonation and at 6.1% the second pint from the crowler was no problem. Overall, Brick and Steel is a fine example of a NW IPA with a nice malt, bitter hop balance.
