my first beer from these guys is a simple one but a good one, a light lager type but with some character, not totally sterile on the yeast and the hops, which i dig in the style, almost a cream ale taste and feel to it, which is to say somewhat more substantial and interesting than the standard light lager. its almost perfectly clear, super light visually both in color and apparent body, and it holds a little bit of a white head. it doesnt really smell like much, maybe a light pils malt note and a simple doughy complexion to the fermentation as well, but really not a whole lot going on. the flavor then is a little surprising, i taste the lager yeast almost all the way through this, and there are some light slightly lemony hops that come up before the finish too, minimally bitter but just enough for this to not be boring. the malt is real pale and light, but it doesnt taste like an adjunct to me. the freshness is obvious, and they got the dryness and high carbonation dialed in, just what i need in a beer like this. a fine lighter brew here for the summer, but it doesnt tell me much about this brewery. ill look to try more of their stuff when i am back up there later this month!
