they had several variants of this flowing when i was in, a cool project to put different fruits into a simple french type saison, cleaner than i generally like in the style, not real rustic or old worldy, but a great base for the fruit, almost belgian blonde-like to me, nothing wrong with that. the chalkboard menu here did not mention the mango i dont recall, just the orange, but i am fairly certain they its the same beer, definitely more orange forward though, juicy and natural, the fruit is in fact the best part of this. the whole thing is really light, not a ton of body or even wheat character in the grain base, more built around pils it seems, crackery and fairly dry, nothing interesting about it at all. the ferment is estery, light pepper and citrus to it, white wine notes, light taffy and bubblegum high tone elements too, which in isolation might be a little overdone, but they are great with the natural sweet and slightly acidic orange, which has a highly fragrant sort of essential oil vibe, but is very authentic as well. its off dry, well enough carbonated even though it doesnt hold much head, and made entertaining by the fruit alone. generic tropical sweetness to the mango, way behind the orange. i like this being so low alcohol, its also light and summery to drink, but some more funky yeast character would rule, a wine barrel treatment would be fun, it just sort of seems to be missing a little something, flavorful as it is. cool series, i hope to drink some of the other versions next time i am in!
