Look: Dark orange and cloudy with a booming white head that slowly recedes to a lid and leaves webs of lacing behind

Aroma: Warm wheat bread, banana, wheat malt, light clove, yeast, and wafts of bubblegum

Taste: Opens up with wheat malt and bread and a whole lot of it. As the bread party develops, banana and clove mix in with some light bubblegum notes occasionally showing up as well. Closes with more wheat and yeast

Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish

Overall: I dig it. I love Hefe’s and wanted to try these folks’ offering when I first head about it so grabbed some when I did and that decision paid off. It’s a tasty and well-made take on one with lots of wheat, good phenolics, and a nice yeast presence that comes together in a tasty package

Clear golden amber with a nice beery white foam in the New Belgium snifter. So clear that I eyeballed down the bottle and yes, there's plenty of sediment but you get a clear pour. There is some estery aroma but I wouldn't exactly call it Bavarian. Quite drinkable and modestly malty, making for a pleasant mongrel wheat brew.

The Interesting Fact on the label is that this is brewed with Nugget and LIberty hops-- even though you can't really taste any hops. Well, maybe there is a little scratch in the aftertaste but it's more of a yeasty flavor. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Safeway in Anacortes.
