Smell: Dark fruits, caramel, coconut, peat, some roasted dark chocolate.
Taste: See above.
Feel: Medium carbonation, full body, slightly dry finish and a bit sweet upfront, mild alcohol bite.

2013 vintage, properly cellared. Poured into a MacAndrew's thistle glass. Pours a dark reddish orange with a big two finger khaki head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of rich caramel malt, bourbon, vanilla, dark stone fruit. Flavor follows aroma, sweet caramel malt, vanilla, plums and cherries, toffee and a hint of peat. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A really nicely balanced scotch style ale with flavorful malt and dark fruit flavors and excellent barrel influence of bourbon and vanilla; well integrated. A bit on the sweet side as expected and slightly lighter body than expected from the aroma and taste. Bourbon and Scotch ale were meant for each other and Silver City has delivered. Excellent.
