Sampling a chilled 12 oz can poured into my .5 L dimple mug. Date stamp is 12/08/2022. ABV listed at 7.0% on my can.
The beer pours a clear straw yellow and rests with a slightly more golden hue in the glass. A fizzy bleached white head foams up about 1 cm and fades to a thin edge layer with some wispy islands floating in the center. Lots of active streams of carbonation rise to the surface, but do not replenish the foam.
Aroma is grainy malts and some sweetness and white bread. I also get a bit of a white grape fruitiness and some floral hoppiness. But grainy malt is by far dominant.
First sip reveals a relatively light body with a bit of sticky texture and very fine tingly carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose advertisements, some grainy malts and general sweetness with a little light fruit and the white grape sweet carries on the finish. no booze hits anywhere here on this beer. Drinks pretty fast and easy.
Not bad, but I wouldnt buy this again and wouldnt drink it frequently, just not a lot of interesting notes here.

 

 

This is one of the 20th Anniversary series, and I wonder if they dusted off the Deluxe Lager recipe from a few years ago. This is made with pale malt, flaked corn, and a pinch of Sterling hops. It seems like it could be stronger to be a Malt Liquor, but then it wouldn't be as drinkable. This tastes exactly like that flabby corn and hop-free concoction, but much better.

From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham. Pours a handsome golden amber with plenty of suds in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Warm and mouth-filliing, a cute butterball sort of brew that goes down easy. But the honey aroma is followed by a wee tangy taste. A resiny hint in the aftertaste and that scratchy note of hops lightly dipped in the hot wort.
