Clear tea-colored brew with just a suggestion of foam in the snifter. There is a little spritz in the mouth, and it's quite light-bodied. Smell is something like bark dust, leaf mold, and a damp closet. Dishwatery flavor but not very bitter.
There is a little malt with a touch of caramel and a hint of French onion soup. Overall, this is an oddly mucky-tasting brew with an off-putting aroma that never fades. Taste gets to the "why am I drinking this" stage about 8 ounces down. From the 16-ounce can purchased at Central Market north of Seattle.
