Aggressive, yet approachable, Ride the Spiral Double IPA packs a tropical punch of fruit flavor, with the addition of natural pineapple and orange essences within an intensely hopped, hazy IPA. Spiral out.

Canned May 12th '25. Pour is a hazy orange with a short head which quickly fades. Nose is clean fruit, pineapple with mango and a hint of citrus. Taste is heavy on the hops plus some citrus-peel bitterness over a moderately dry finish that tends to soften out as the beer warms. Label states it has "natural flavors" which might account for that extra bit of bitterness on the finish. ABV is 8.0% which stays in the background. Overall, a solid DIPA with a strong citrus bias. Let your pour warm a bit and you'll have a better experience.

I usually don't like blood orange IPAs, but this one is a double and it has pineapple in it, so I figured I'd give it a try. It has an extra bite at the finish because of the orange zest and hop combination. You really don't notice the alcohol. The pineapple adds a sweetness and taste which I found refreshing. Much better taste than I was expecting and enjoyed it more also. Aroma was tropical and pineapple. Appearance is an orangey clear with a small head and a light mouthfeel. 75 IBUs Rated 3-16-2021

I haven’t had a beer for about three to five years. This was a beer picked on a whim. Having been in the woods, alone, for about 6 years, and only cutting down trees on my property and chopping them up for firewood, and only dealing with Douglas Fir and western red cedar, this beer tasted like it was infused with western red cedar sap. Just took another sip. It’s definitely got a tree sap infusion. I’m betting on it being western red cedar. It’s a good beer. For the record.

I don't know why people call this hazy or a New England style? It tasted good but more like a west coast style ale with some tropical fruit notes. I liked it because it was not an NE. If I can see through it, it's not hazy and I can see through easily. Had a nice 2 finger head and good lace.

Had this from a can (six-pack) I bought at Albertsons. I do lean toward sweeter double IPAs, and this one knocks it out of the park! That's because it's not overtly sweet, and gives you the pineapple / orange combo in a subtle way but enough as you'd expect in a NEIPA. Someone better carry this in San Diego. I highly recommend this especially if you like the fruit and/or milkshake IPAs.

16 oz. can from Westside Taphouse.
Murky peach flesh coloured body, splotchy yet persistent frothy white head.
Aromas of pineapple, papaya and citrus. But not the usual sickly sweet hazy.
Taste has all this and some lovely, sweet cherry thing going on.
Mouth feel is medium with medium carbonation. Rather easy to drink for a 8%.
I liked this. Its fruity but not sickening. Its strong but drinks well.

19.2 oz can from Albertsons. Hazy orange golden pour, small creamy white head. Fruity aroma, candy fruit, tropical Lifesavers. Taste is sweet, fruity and juicy, oranges, not getting the pineapple. Odd bitterness at the finish.

double hazy ipa with pineapple and orange, not too fruity, not sweet, very natural, and there is a great interaction between the selected hops and the fruit, great dosage and proportionality, and this ends up being really drinkable for the style as a result. a cloudy orange tone from the tap with a frothing inch of white head, airy and lacy as it drinks. aroma is pineapples, citra hops, meyer lemon, earthy wheat, and some light herbal bitterness, not too fruit forward, seemingly mostly dry hopped, very summery and with a well hidden alcohol content, smells light to me. the flavor is real fresh, they must have just come in, i have been seeing more of their stuff around town on tap, this is very bright and new to me. the pineapple is in front of the orange in the flavor but i get them both, great with these hops, some grapefruit intensity as it warms some, and plenty of cereal grain taste without it being old school malty or anything, not sweet like that, not hefty feeling. the flavor of this is great, the hop profile and the fruit together are juicy and ripe and fresh and delicious, and this is a sneaky pint, could easily get turnt on these, very spring and summer to me, really well done. i have been seriously enjoying the recent round of silver city beers to have come around!

12oz canned late October, poured into a goblet.

A: Thick, turbid gold with an off-white head that laces OK and sticks around fairly well.

S: Big, sweet aromas of POG juice with a floral orange character and pineapple juice sweetness; someone else called it pineapple glazed candy, and I agree. Malty sweetness underneath it all.

T: More pineapple unfolds on the palate with a decent dose of bready malt sweetness and plenty of orange juice/blood orange flesh, mango.

MF: Fairly thick and full-bodied, with a constant sweetness that isn't off-putting. Lower bitterness and dryness; this is more sweet double NEIPA than hoppy WCIPA.

O: As a POG IPA, this delivers fairly well. The sweetness is combative at times but the malt and sweet tropical fruit character works well together, even as a thick wintery NEIPA.

Canned 9/15/20, from Bremer, Washington, a niche emerging local.
L: A deep orange-gold, poured quite thick- no light is shining through the extreme haze. A quick to rise 2 inch head gradually melted in a few minutes. Swell.
S: The orange citrus hits first then is overcome by the acidic pineapple. A cakey nose, like orange lollipop glaze.
T: Curious.. Pineapple is dominant followed by flashes of sweet bread, orange is secondary and seems to balance more than perform. It leaves a bitterness only detected at the tail end of development.
F: Nothing special, viscous beneath the weight of the haze, but not heavy either.
This beer looked and smelled more promising that it turned out to be. I felt the flavors were not cooperating well and the pineapple tasted more like urine with each sip. Luckily, the the sweet cake flavor held everything together. Perhaps, this one just isn't for me. Not a bad beer, but for other folk.
