16oz canned on 01/24/2023 and poured in a pint glass. Thick, lemon pith looking thing with loads of white head. Aroma is mild but zesty; pleasant, but not nearly potent enough for a "hazy double india pale ale" as the label now reads (along with 7% ABV).

Flavor is really bright and has the very strong and distinct flavor of bitter citrus zest. Except it doesn't have the actual bitterness, just the bitter flavor, if that makes any sense. These are bitter flavors, but without the alpha bitterness. An interesting paradox.

A good IPA and I really respect the unique take on New Zealand hops.

Label: 45 IBU, 7% alc by vol, NW Pale, wheat, carapils + nugget, nelson-sauvin, azacca, and wai-iti hops.

Slight haze on the amber brew with plenty of foam in the Orval chalice. Quite malty tasting with spritzy mouthfeel. Tangy but not overly acidic. Aroma of citrus peel. Odd fruity taste, like mango mixed with bitter green tea followed by grapefruit pith.

Rather bitter and woody aftertaste. Drinkability suffers from the murky taste and excessive herbal bitterness. From the 16 oz can, brewed and canned at Bremerton, where the brewing facility is now located. Dated 04/05/2021 and purchased at Whidbey Beer Works.

Canned 5 April. Very hazy, just short of murky, few floaters. No distinguishing aroma comes from a thick and frothy head. First sip is hop forward and rather dry. Background comes out with some citrus and woodsy notes, fading to a residual bitterness. Body and feel is typical hazy-IPA stlye, more taste comes out after some time in the glass. It's good, not spectacular.
