A four-season beer, Range West is an approachable, light-bodied West Coast style IPA. Moderate bitterness nods to the challenges of blazing new trails, balanced by aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, and pine. Range West IPA was recently awarded Platinum in the Sip Magazine 2023 “Best of The Northwest Beer Awards.”

solid ipa here, been a minute since i had a beer from these guys, this is my first time with this one, kind of northwestern style with higher bitterness and some danky and woodsy notes, but a bit lighter in color and body than the reddish ones that defined the style way back when, reading that this even has some rice in it, which makes sense with the ease of the texture, its not unbalanced, like the bitterness isnt out on an island, its cohesive and repeatable, well made, decently fresh too. more of a brassy golden tone than anything deeper, nice shine to it, average white head from the tap, good carbonation, pretty well refined looking, minimal in a way, but it sure doesnt smell or taste minimal, big zested grapefruit, fresh christmas tree, and fruity weedy notes to this, almost juniper botanical punch, melon rind lushness, and a bit of bite, all very pleasant on top of a simple sort of crackery and fluffy feeling out of the way grain base, some light starchiness to it, perhaps from the rice, and a touch of mid palate sweetness that sets the back end hop climax up real well. refreshing and quite clean at the end, piney and familiar on the hop side overall, but with nuance behind it, modernized just a bit but still bitter too and with some late hop spice. things like lemony grilled veggies and salty hand cut crispy french fries come to mind for this in a food context, seems versatile to me in that regard, but nice just as a beer too, nice proportions and drinkability.

Had this beer yesterday at Killer Burger in Hazel Dell. Pours a light golden color with a creamy white head that stays for a while. The aroma is mainly tropical fruit and citrus. Nice malt body with some biscuit taste. Very refreshing, with a hint of bitterness. Very good beer. Rated 7-25-2024

Clear amber brew with long-lasting foam in the Belle-Vue Gueuze glass. Interesting flavor includes grapes and wine. Tends toward the dark and resisny. Just a slight malty sweetness with a lemony finish. Sprightly and sharp on the tongue. Not a bad hoppy brew, but quite bitter. From th3 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 02/12/2024.
