I should note that this version of Gee Whiz bears the additional note "dry-hop on Saaz" -- I'm not sure whether all incarnations of this release were dry-hopped as well.
Poured a murky cola brown with a finger of quick-receding khaki head. Nice aroma with hints of smoke, coffee, and bready caramel.
Moderate carbonation and a creamy, light mouthfeel. Lots of bitter roast up front with a pronounced coffee character. Some toast and hints of cocoa after that and lingering smoke and bitter spice on the dry finish.
Full-flavored for such a light style, but the bitterness is maybe a little too astringent (this actually improved as the beer warmed).

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
