Copenhagen 16/5 2024. 33 cl bottle from Den Belgiske Ølbutik, Jyllingevej, Vanløse. Dark label in Verzet's usual style this time with letters in pink.
Pours opaque, murky maroon with a small off-white head. Settles as paper thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is intense with a sweet fruit odor mingling with a distinct tart and sour scent. Sweet raspberries with a hint of cherries. Vinegar and tart unripe currants. Whiff of butter.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour. Lingers for a bit. Finish is rather dry.
Fine tart berry brew.

A corked and caged 750ml bottle, harvest 2016, and with a best before date of February 2027. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A clear amber red colour with a thin beige head that dissipated quickly and left only sparse to no lacing.
Aroma: Lightly tart, raspberry, sweet jammy, notes of mixed berries.
Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, acidic, lemon juice, and vinegar.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Like other versions of this Oud Bruin, the sweet jammy fruity aroma was great, while taste is the opposite with strong sourness and acidity. Despite this, the raspberry does come through nicely and still makes this enjoyable.
