Copenhagen 2/3 2020. 33 cl bottle from Den Belgiske Ølbutik, Jyllingevej, Vanløse. Black label where I have to tip the bottle in order to discern the name of the beer.

Pours unclear deep brown with a small off-white head. Settles as thin patch of foam not even close to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is intense, sour with only a light sweet streak. Unripe berries, green apples, vinegar. Sharp and acidic. Some faint sweet odor of ripe forest berries carefully peeking in. Light notes of wood.

Strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture.

Flavor has a light sweetness followed by strong, tart, acidic sourness. Aftertaste is like biting into an unripe grape fruit. Imeensly sour and somewhat sour. Lingers for a while.

Nice Sour Bruin even though I have to admit that I did not catch on to the leaves.

A corked and caged 750ml bottle, harvest 2015, and with a best before date of April 2026. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A clear amber orange brown colour with a one finger beige head that had decent retention and eventually settled to a thin replenishing cap, while leaving some decent lacing.

Aroma: Lightly tart, cherry skin, blackberry, mixed berries, oak, woody, dried grass, grape skin, light herbal medicine, and a touch vinous.

Taste: Sour, tart, cherry skin, grape skin, woody oak, dried grass, with a splash of vinegar.

Mouthfeel: Dry, lightly acidic, light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Refreshing and enjoyable with good aroma and flavours. Acidity is more balanced here than in some of the other varieties.

Nice one verzet! Good balance between, the black malts, the oak and the limited acetic character. The oak leaf is very fainted but nevermind this is quite enjoyable on its own.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep red/burgundy color ale with a large off-white foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of oak and tart cherry notes is refreshing and enticing. Taste is also a mix of oak and cherry notes with some tart notes and some very limited notes of acidity. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable Flanders red but not sure I could detect the impact of oak leaf in this beer. I also enjoyed the more balance acidic level in this beer.
