Pours clear straw with a wispy shortlived head. Funky, rustic Brett aroma, lemon, barnyard. Tart taste with a grassiness and very dry. Lemony. Medium bodied mouthfeel with prickly but light carbonation. Sour, dry, barnyard finish.
A very nice sour. Complex but quaffable.

This one pours a hazy light orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like overripe grape skin, with sour white wine, oak, and lemon.
This is bracingly sour, with a very cheese rindy sort of funk- it's very prickly. There's very sour grape flavors, funky melon and stone fruit, a bit of oak, lots of white wine, and pineapple.
This is light bodied, crisp, and with a long lasting lingering acidity, and a crisp level of carbonation.
This was a fun little beer- there's a lot of interesting flavors here.

this beer is awesome, a really unique expression of these grapes, a wild wine yeast fermented funky brew thats brewed with the leftovers from wine production, probably the best and most forward zinfandel experience i have had in a beer. its pinkish orange in color with a lot of visible carbonation and a vinous nose thats full of nuance. fruity brett, honeydew melon, rose petal, lavender, hibiscus, lemon, bright minerals, and oak tannins, its mouthwatering and exciting to me, and also different, unrecognized by my sensory sequence for the most part. the flavor is just like the nose, with the tartness of the grape skins really leading the way, its winey for sure, but also grapey too, sort of the best of both worlds as far as the fruit is concerned. lots of wood here, really mellows some of the acidity here and lets the brett shine. wine yeast ferments this to nearly dry too, and its effervescent on the carbonation, really intense and alive. wonderful minerality to this, stone fruit notes, and rose wine itself. absolutely delightful and unique beer, cool mix of yeasts, and a great use of the fruit. i would like to get my hands on some more beers from this barrel series! this was awesome!

Barrel Project Zinfandel Sour - Dry Creek Valley 2015
375ml bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear glowing pumpkin color with a finger of soft off-white head that slowly fade into fuzzy film and collar. Wispy lace was left down the glass.
S: Perfumey fragment nose, musty grape, notes of red berry and tart acidity. Bright smelling.
T: Tart and bright acidity reminds me of citric acid/candy. Vinous wine grape over golden sour ale flavors. Grape is sweet and has a fruity/floral notes. Candies fruit notes in the aftertaste mix with musty, woody, barrel funk.
M: Light body, bubbly, soft, effervescent carbonation that froths up on my palate. Tart mouthfeel but low acidity, drying finish. Drinks well.
O: Grape is vinous but not overly fruit juice or fruit punch like. Solid beer.
