This was a disappointing meh overall. Muddled hop profile and a lack of definition made this a let-down, given the prestige attached to the restaurant which shares its name.

Pours a nice 1 finger white head, nice retention. Relatively clear and a dark straw in color with light carbonation. Nose is a little muted but I am getting notes of resin up front and a touch of pine on the back end. Taste is pleasant. A light hoppy resin flavor leads the way. Mid-palate turns a touch piney and finishes the same. A little bready malt on the back end as well. The finish is very clean. A super subtle bitterness is present but certainly not assertive. Medium bodied and low carbonation.

For a pale ale, this one is pretty pleasant. It's very easy to drink yet still flavorful.

S: fruity, hints of floral

A: orange with one finger head

T: fruity, some pine notes, oak, carmel sweetness with light bitterness on the finish

M: light bodied, dry finish

O: a solid ipa, not to aggressive on the hops, with a bright carbonation that leaves a crisp finish.

375ml bottle into SN hop glass. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a murky iced tea amber with a couple fingers of soft bright white head that faded into a fuzzy film that left thick streaks of lace.
S: Sweet caramel and bready malt with citrus hops poking through.
T: Follows the nose with bready malt, doughy yeast, and decently bitter citrus hops. Balanced and smooth but could use a tad more hops.
M: Medium body, smooth and slick mouth with a good chew to it. Soft carbonation.
O: Unfortunately I found this pretty average, which is a first from this brewery.

Poured from a fancy 375ml bottle into a pint glass. Light and clear gold with a fizzy head and persistent ring of lace.

Sweet piney dough, a fair amount of specialty malt (a light crystal, maybe?), goes wonderfully with the grapefruit and melon notes from the super green hop.

Tastes a fair amount like freshness... a fresh handful of crystal malt, a fresh mellow hop, and a fresh glass of brightly carbonated water. Hint bit of bitterness at the end is welcome, and sets it off nicely. If you know what Juicy Fruit gum tastes like, you're off to a good start.

Just a really solid beer, surprised there aren't more reviews for it. It was priced fairly where I got it so it's on my list of go-to's, for sure.

Golden amber body with slight haze. The finger of foam slowly recedes to a collar. Nose is citrusy, grassy, slightly vegetal. Tropical fruit notes pop out with a bit of agitation. Soft doughy malt aromas balance the very green hop character. There's a nice balance of citrus, tropical fruit and grassy/vegetal hop flavors backed by light bready malt flavors. Gentle bitterness in the finish with a light crisp body. Nicely done for a wet hop pale ale, not too heavy on the vegetal hop flavors.
