Copenhagen 24/12 2018. 33 cl bottle from Ninkasira Bottleshop, Kbh N. Black label with white drawings on it with a Lighthouse, an unrluly sea and a steering wheel.
Pours opaque dark brown with small tan head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is intense, vineous and sweet. Dark fermented fruit with plums, cherry and shoe cream. Heavy sherry and port. Reminds me more of an Barley Wine than a Baltic Porter.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous texture. I almost have to drag it out of the glass.
Flavor has strong sweetness followed by a weaker but notable bitterness. Aftertaste is long and bitter sweet. Lingering.
A fittings Christmas treat. Strong, vineous and sweet without being cloying due to a balancing bitterness. Good one.

June 2019: Shared 330 ml bottle. Very dark brown colour. Very oaky aroma and flavour. Nice, but less complex than I expected.

Extraordinary smell, with sherry oak notes, cognac, cherries.
The taste is, unfortunately, diluted and non-persistent. Some oak, charcoal, coffee liquor, dark chocolate, sour cherry liquor. Dry aftertaste.

Pitch black. Two fingers of a good beautiful light brown foam.
Complex smell, full and intense. And good. Toasted, dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, sherry, cocoa beans.
In the mouth, soft and round, with sherry and chocolate notes. Then a bitter aftertaste, grassy and roots-like, long.
Important structure, for an important and really well done beer.

330 mL bottle. Pours deep brown with a little transparency. Smells of sherry, oak, roasted malt, and some earthy hops. Tastes much the same. Strong sherry and oak. A touch fruity. Bitter and earthy malts and hops with a lingering sherry finish. Medium heavy. Good

Black color with creamy tan head. Aroma has nice depth of malt and dark fruit like dried blackberries and plums. Taste is on the roasty side with nice dark fruit and coffee in the background. Medium body with soft carbonation and really smooth mouthfeel. A very well made beer with the barrel aging giving it some extra depth of flavor.
