Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus, tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and passion fruit, as well as hints of dankness. Taste is a good balance of biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly grassy and dank hops, with citrus and tropical notes of grapefruit, passion fruit and papaya, with just a hint of grassy weed coming through as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and some grapefruit, passion fruit and hints of dank weed lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for an okay NEIPA that feels somewhat juicy, but just lacks that really vibrant and well-defined quality that expect from the hops for this style. While there are some citrus, tropical and dank notes to this, they all feel a bit washed out and not that expressive, with an overlying grassy feel that almost feels chalky as well. This may be due to age, but if the brewery has really set a 12-month BB-date for this, making it 4 1/2 months old, they deserve the bad rating as far as I'm concerned.
