Appearance: Dark brown, opaque; beige-brown foam, fine-bubbled, moderately abundant, medium-lasting.
Aroma: Malt-forward. Medium roast, coffee-like. Slightly worty and sweet. In the background, probable hints of hops – resinous/citrus? – and esters.
Taste: Similar to aroma. Bitterness medium to medium-low. Aftertaste is bitter and roasted.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, beer feels noticeably viscous but not overly so in my opinion. Balance leaning slightly towards bitterness. No warming alcohol sensation, carbonation low.
Overall Impression: Very enjoyable beer. Personally, I miss a bit of chocolate notes; the malt profile could be a little broader.
