Serving size: 2 American Pints. The first pint was poured to the rim leaving no room for head. The second pint, actually a 12 oz pour, came with a bubbly inch of white foam that quickly shrank to a minimal amount of lace. The second pint also came with a warning that I probably wouldnt like it.
No shit, I thought this beer is actually good unlike so many of the other brews here that everyone else seems to like. Seeing as I actually enjoy this one, it goes without saying that the rest of JTs crowd would hate it.
Body is pale yellow-gold without visible carbonation.
Aroma: Clean but acidic. Citric like lime juice, a decent but not overpowering amount of banana and some nice spiciness, clove or nutmeg I think.
Taste: The front of the palate is initially pounded by a lime mineral water-like sensation and flavor. This quickly subsides giving way to balanced banana/German malt flavors. Finish is lightly spiced.
Mouthfeel: The beer really shines here. The carbonation, though invisible (probably the fault of bad glass selection), is readily felt. Its aggressive to the point of becoming champagne like and plays on the tongue like mineral water. The body is fairly dry and would come across as light if it werent beefed up by the bubbles a bit. I would place it as medium-light bodied for the style. The initial citric kick gives a mildly sour/tart front to the beer but the whole thing finishes off soft and smooth with just touches of spice. Well balanced and interesting throughout.
Drinkability: Great. Sessionable, clean, crisp and fun to drink.
