The beer pours a nice solid brown with a nice ruby glow with a thin off-white head that left behind a decent lace. The aroma is moderate malty, roast, chocolate and of course smoked malt. The flavor is smoky, but not overly so, chocolate and some caramel sweetness also pokes through. The beer is rather smooth and after the swallow a subtle smokiness lingers. Carbonation and body are moderate. Overall one of the better brews I've tried at JT's, I couldn't drink too much of it though, but that probably has more to do with style than how it was brewed.
