This poured a crystal clear ruby red with tanish head. the smell was strong of malt and caramel, The taste had a really sweet nice start. however there seemed to be a really strong caramel flavor which was a little bit too strong for my tastes. There was a crisp carbonation, and nice medium body. The really strong caramel flavor hurt the fionish of the beer, but otherwise it was a solid ale.

The Badger delivers a clear, dark-chestnut body with ruby highlights beneath a creamy head of light tan that holds well and leaves some nice lace behind. The nose is malty with notes of caramelized wort and nuts. In the mouth it's medium bodied and moderately crisp. The flavor mirrors the aroma but with more depth. It's malty, bready, sweet with caramel, and has some spicy hops in the back. A dollop of buttery diacetyl rounds it, lending the nutty and toffee-like notes found in the nose. It's not overdone though, and fits in nicely with this rich, sweetish ale. It finishes drying as the caramelish malt slides from the palate. Interesting and enjoyable, but with perhaps a bit too much residual sweetness to enjoy more than one during a night at the pub. Probably goes great with breakfast though!

Garnet hued under a headpiece of pale khaki.
Toffee whafts, and generally sweet.
Syrup-like caramel and quasi-maple tones dominate the flavor. Bready underbelly. Sticky and near cloying, but still rather thin. The sweetness here is over done and seems forced to the point of being artificial. Prickly grassy hops do not balance anything.
This is JT's lone bottled product.
