A limp amber with some beige scum for a head.
Nearly aromaless. Cleanly malty with notes of toffee.
Caramel maltiness with trace molasses flares. Only alt-like in the basest of senses. Touches of raw, earthy hops at the finish. Void of everything.
A watery, thin body does nothing to envigorate this.

They also brew a "Dark Alt"; perhaps this is that same beer cut with water?

A- came as a copper light red color clear with a off white head.
S- lots of malt noticed, caramel noticed, and a mild hop scents

T- taste was as expected from the smell, pretty sweet, a much smoother caramel flavor than that noticed in their red ale. Has a really strong malt, mild hops present. Pretty solid
M-has a medium body with sharper carbonation, flows over the tongue well
D- was a pretty good beer, smooth sweet flavor.

When I was there, they were calling this their "German Style Alt", so rather than add one more beer, I am reviewing it under this blanket name. It arrived with a light head, which quickly disappeared. It was a bright copper in color, which is why didn't review it as the "Dark Alt". There was some, but not a lot of, carbonation present. There was also a lightly sweet maltiness evident on the nose. A decent hoppiness asserted itself on the finish. It had a medium mouthfeel, which I can only describe as somewhere between really creany and really dry, just medium. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, it was average, hence my scores. Still, it might make for a nice session beer, if I was only planning to have a couple and shove off.

Plain looking golden beer with very little head. Very bubbly looking actually, like a dark sparkling wine.

The smell was faint but nice enough, sweet malt. Tasted like a stronger version of its own smell: a nice, sweet malt with a dry aftertaste. Nothing overpowering, but nice.

Very fizzy, like Alkaseltzer with a thin but satisfying body. The texture is no problem if you're only drinking a couple of these, and it actually goes well with rich foods, but if you don't have any food around then you might be in for some gas.
