Multifarious is dark gold to light amber (SRM 5-7). It is almost clear with a thin, brief, fine, off-white head. Lots of spotty lace covers the top of the glass, while occasional tiny, lazy bubbles wander within.
The aroma is dominated by oak over a fair amount of barnyard Brettanomyces. White wine aroma is also strong. The background perhaps contains gin or juniper berries. Each swirl reveals a little bit of apple juice.
Tartness balances the sweetness and, combined, they overwhelm a light to moderate bitterness. White wine flavors are followed by oak. This beer finishes with a mild, lingering, tart oakiness.
Full body with a soft, cushy texture and light, prickly carbonation. Alcohol is higher than expected.
While fairly simple for the style, this beer was really quite enjoyable. It feels sophisticated and is keeping me calm while watching the news. It also holds up quite well to warmth.
