On tap at brewery:
Pours a hazy looking medium dark brown. Nice foamy very light beige head with sheets of lacing.
Nose is of the barrel with a caramel to molasses sweetness stuck in for good measure. Hints of the whiskey and maybe even a light char note.
Taste hits with a little more whiskey than I expected from the nose. Not a lot of heat, though, and the wood quickly catches up. Drier and not as sweet as I expected on the other hand. Woody notes turn bitter by mid taste. Fizzy catbonation/alcohol feel tingles the tongue.
I was hoping the sweet would come through a tad more up front. This beer has the nice ending flavor for my tastes, but the ending flavor is also the beginning flavor. This was on their cellar list (and is retired here on this site), so there might have been a hint of age - but so light I hesitate mentioning it.

Poured from 16 oz can (labeled as 10% abv & 5 mos in barrel) into English pint glass. Toffee, oak, leather, mild to moderate whiskey in the nose. Nose is subtle but complex. Creamy tan head, nice lacing. Darkish brown in color. Taste is bursting with mildly sweet malts, dark fruit, moderate barrel flavor and a bit of hop bite to finish. Very little alc presence for 10%. Full mouthfeel with surprising efervesence. Very drinkable.

Deep brown color.
Aroma is all barrel: vanilla and caramel dominate
The taste is much of the same caramel and vanilla you get in the nose, but the maltiness of the base beer shines through. There was really almost no discernible alcohol taste.
