Bolo is a 4.4% ABV session-style, kettle soured ale, utilizing Mosaic & Amarillo hops in the boil and dry-hopped in the fermentor. Wheat and Pilsner malts lend light biscuit & hay notes to this beer, laying the foundation for the balanced hop flavors of Mosaic & Amarillo. Notes of white peach, citrusy lemon, and dry earthy funk round out this perfectly delicate little sour ale. Collaboration with Austin Beerworks.

One of the best Maryland beers of the year, this kettle hopped sour is a fantastic example of the style. Hop flavors combined with a weisse or gose style tartness and a low ABV make this one worth seeking out (draft only).

When I first cracked open the crowler, I caught a whiff that was reminiscent of the new breed of hoppy pilsners. After I filled my glass with the pale straw liquid, I noticed some leather funk and lime, and...pencil eraser!? The flavor brings plenty of tart lime and biscuit, and the hops round things out nicely with tropical fruit sweetness. What a fun beer--a session beer that I actually want to session with! Went well with Vietnamese food, too.

Definite dank hoppy flavor and finish, medium tartness and subtle malt sweetness, mild bitterness, well carbed, white head fades quickly, hazy yellow, slight sulphur aroma. Med-light body.
Really fun and easy to knock back.

A really nice sessionable sour. Not mouth-puckering but plenty of sour bite. The dry-hopping is what sets this beer apart; it has a grassy quality that is really unexpected but pairs well with the biscuit notes from the malt. If this were in six-packs at a reasonable price point I could see it becoming a regular.
