This Fall, we began the Rough Draughts series of small batch beers, with the intent to allow our Brewers to stretch their wings and brew their own recipes on our 20 barrel brewhouse.

The first Rough Draughts beer to be released was UCB Brewer, Dean Hamilton’s, Citra Sour – An all-Citra, dry-hopped sour ale. We loved the beer and so did our guests – Making it one of the fastest selling Rough Draughts batches so far.

Not only can he brew, but as it turns out, under the right circumstances, Dean transforms, like Clark Kent to Superman, and becomes Deezus, a freestyling MC. So we called Deezus back to the big brewhouse and told him to scale up his Citra Sour for a can release.

Citra Sour has now become Sour Deezus, a hip-hop inspired sour ale, packed with bold notes of Pineapple, Lemon, Passion fruit and sour funk. Paired with incredible label art by Baltimore’s own rising star, Luke Martin, AKA Suburban Avenger, we are hyped for this drop.
