Enter the Trip Leader, Guru of Grain, the Shaman of Citra. This trip begins well before the taste. You might think you’re hallucinating already. Are we still UNION? Fresh juice, candied grapefruit rind, lemon & mango aromatics noodle-dance their way from the glass. The Trip Leader beckons you further in for a sip—to explore the depths of juicy, ripe, citrus and tropical fruit flavors propped up by a soft pillowy body. As your mind melts into fractalized hop mandalas a surprisingly subtle sweet finish and a whisper of bitterness lead you back to reality.

On tap at Iron Horse Tap Room, Washington, D.C. Trip Leader is full of hoppy-piney goodness! Solid IPA in the west-coast style.

16 oz can

pours fairly clear, medium yellow color, thick white head. good head retention and lacing. bright hoppy aroma - lemon, floral, grassy, passionfruit. taste is light and similar flavors, with moderate underlying bitterness. a touch of honeylike sweetness, well balanced. medium bodied.

Undated (WTF - my pet peeve with IPAs...) into pint glass. Pours a hazy rich amber with a thin off-white head. Initial impression is grapefruit, orange, mango, and caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth and sticky; carbonation is just about right. Finish is sweet citrus, fading to a very slight bitterness. Overall, not a world-changer for DIPAs, but thoroughly enjoyable. My favorite Union Craft brew by far!
