Semi-clear amber gold appearance, foamy moist white head, good retention and lacing. Grain, malt, bread, caramel. Moderate body and carbonation, creamy finish.

Lightly gazed amber body with a modest head build up. Though the latter isn’t exceptional on the pour, it’s lasting nature (collar and laving) keeps the beer looking nice for a while.

Nose is of medium dark bread, toast, melanoidin and a hint of sourdough. The aromas don’t lead to the thought of a sweet malt flavor, and this ends up being good foreshadowing. The beer is fairly neutral, with a tea-to-earthy bitterness actually leading a bit more than the lightly spiced toast malt flavors. Medium light body with a slight lift provided by moderate carbonation.

Probably could use a little more strength from the malts in the flavor, but I am enjoying it pretty well as is.

Pours a handsome golden amber with a malt driven nose with caramel and a tiny touch of spice. This is super crisp and very easy to put down, despite plenty of caramel with a slight hint of nuts and a late biscuit note. The finish is remarkably clean with only a mild aftertaste. Not too sweet or heavy like some Fest beers can be, this is another strong effort from this brewer.

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours a clear light golden yellow with a moderate off-white head and some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature toasty bready malts and a hint of grassy hops. Overall a great Oktoberfest.

12 ounce can poured into a dimpled mug.
Canned 08/12/20

Nice bright golden with an orange hue, very clear and showing tiny bubbles quickly rising to the one inch plus, near-white head. The meek nose is comprised of light bread, honey and spicy hops. Taste is similar, lightly sweet with rising bitterness to the dry, somewhat hoppy finish. Body is medium-light and frothy with medium-high carbonation.
For my taste not as good as my favorite German imports but still a fine O-fest.

Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Pale bronze and brass bodied, with really nice lines of fine carbonation rising to the top. This is a real beautiful color, polished to a metallic shine. Head is a good classic three fingers fluffy white, not bright, but bold and with good staying power. Excellent looking festbier.

Aroma is nice if a little too subtle. Faint touches of light brown bread crust, and a hint of light toffee. Slightly small and nearly closed, but has a real nice flavor on the nose.

Palate seems quite solid, with minor faults. Fairly prickly mouthfeel, but with a good density. Touches a little bit of gaseous flavor, but there's a nice light caramel, if spritzy like toffee note. Finishes a bit rough, almost mineral like, but with nice caramel and some mellow herbal hops.

Fairly good festbier with one minor fault in mouthfeel, that's just a hint distracting.

Handsome looking specimen; clear, light copper with a large white head and little lacing. Soft, doughy malt aroma touched with a bit of spice and herbs. Rounded, well balanced flavors as the grainy texture in the mouthfeel compliments the smoothness of orchard fruit. Spicy hops return in the aftertaste.

Worked my way through a 6pk of 12oz cans (canned on 08/13/20): let's be generous and call it a golden (yellow gold) body w/a significant frothy white head that settles into a nice cap w/nice lacing. Not much nose. NOR taste. Smooth. There are much better festbiers to be had even at this price.

DATA: BBD 08/13/2020, 12 oz. aluminum can, poured into glass at 50*F at sea level

Look: Dull, amber-gold. Nice lees on glass. Head clear white, not very persistent.
Smell: Fresh-baked bread, apple-cider vinegar.
Taste: Apple, black pepper, salt, batter, yeast.
Feel: Full-bodied, coarse, good bite.

Overall: A true festbier! Makes us (my girlfriend and I) want to throw on some lederhosen and sing lieder! Proust! (Delicious burps, too!)
