So this doesn't have much of a head and is hazy brown in body. Nose is medium medicinal and herbal hops. The flavor is balanced and a bit muted. Medium alcohol burn. It goes down okay for a DIPA but not one of my favorites from this brewer.

Opaque orange appearance with an average size white head and a fair amount of lacing. Aroma is citrus, focused on pineapple, backed up by some softer fruit. Sweet, placid taste, floral and fruity. Aftertaste is a little spicier. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel.

12 ounce can out of a sixer. Canned on 11/7/2020, consumed 10 days later.
Pour is dull and very hazy with a nice, retentive head.
Aroma is oily hops with some nodes of tropical fruits mixed with some dense, syrupy bitterness similar to what you got out of older school DIPAS, before they tried to make everything taste like a smoothie. The combination is interesting but I'm not quite sure what they're going for, nor whether or not they pulled it off.
Tastes shockingly smooth, compared to the aroma. Fruity milk shake DIPA nodes up front, older school west coast hops in the middle, and a balanced finish.
It's not great, but it's interesting enough and pretty well crafted.

I love the tribute to Eddie Van Halen, but beyond that this IPA falls flat. Very bland, and at 7.6% it really is a single IPA, however it feels boozy and has the attributes of a 9% DIPA. Maybe that is why Union called it a double despite being under 8% ABV. It’s a 1 and done for me.
