Much like a can of craft beer, there is just something magical about a vinyl record. Eight-Track Tapes and your Dad's cheap macro lager were all the rage once. Cassettes and a European Imported bottle certainly changed the game. The compact disc and a microbrew had a good run. But it's the return to the classic vinyl LP and a crisp, clean, hoppy lager that will always reign supreme.
Long Play Lager was brewed to honor our 9th Anniversary and we turned up the amp a bit. LP comes in at a run-time ABV of 6.6% but drinks like smooth jazz. Naturally carbonated and showcasing a pop of fruity hops over a solid malty, almost sourdough-like base. Aromas of orange and mango balanced by a touch of herbaceous spice notes make this a real gem!

12 oz can poured into a Sam Adams Boston Lager glass. This beer doesn't live up to the description as "smooth jazz." It's too bitter, in a jagged/rough manner. The tropical fruit notes don't play well with the pale lager vibe. I poured out the last few ounces.

Clear gold appearance with a large white head and light lacing. Aroma is hoppier than the standard lager with citrus contributing the lions share. Grainy malts in the background. Sweetness is a bit more assertive in the flavor as the hops fade. Things dry out along with a touch of spice in the aftertaste. Good bite from the abv. Overall, a very satisfying lager.
