Bubbe's Brew Jelly Doughnut Strong Ale - Certified Kosher Chanukah Edition - This seasonal amber brew poured a nice red colour with a one finger thick head. On first smell the jelly doughnut aspect really comes through. There is that raspberry jelly doughnut smell you get from the filling. It's almost overpowering and makes it hard to smell anything else, maybe a bit of malt on the edges and no hop smell to be found. The malt comes through on the taste along with a bit of hoppy bitterness but the sweet raspberry flavour definitely takes a turn towards the artificial. The mouthfeel leans toward the higher end of medium. Not a bad beer but would've scored a bit higher if the raspberry flavour leaned more to the real. Part of me wonders though if it wasn't initial because it definitely reminds you of eating a jelly doughnut at your local Tim Horton's or Dunkin Donuts.
