Brewed in collaboration with Yellow Dog Brewing.
Appearance - Pours a golden amber with a finger of bubbly white head.
Smell - piney and citrus hops, belgian yeast, fruity esters, and bready malts. The citrus fruits are orange, pineapple, and hint of grapefruit.
Taste - Piney and citrus based hops upfront followed by the belgian yeast and fruity esters and bready caramalts.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with a lingering bitterness from the citrus based hops.
Overall - An enjoyable and spot on Belgian IPA. The hop and yeast characteristics are up to par with some of the best examples out there.

This is the first brew I opened upon my return from New York City and I must say two things. First, it tasted amazing after a long week of touring NYC. Second, this is a beer on part with any of the more expensive craft brews you find stateside. The citrus flavours - ruby red grapefruit and orange - are nicely balanced by the Belgian yeast. This is a lovely effort!

Tasting notes: Medium gold color. Big grapefruit and pine cleaner nose. Palate is perhaps the most bold and vibrant red grapefruit taste I've yet to sample in a beer, and toss in some blood orange, coriander, lemon, and spruce for good measure. A subtle clove-like astringency lurks in the background, as does some dry burlap sack. Yep, its a Belgian, despite the uber-potent citrus hops. Finish lingers for some time, more citrus rind, pine, and fresh green parsley. Aggressive carbonation. Pretty great Belgian IPA, skewed towards the fruity hops but still with a robust saison-like spice.

341ml bottle, another cog in the Brew Brothers variety pack, a collaboration with Yellow Dog Brewing. My dad's old LP collection tells me exactly which song this one references, and the man in question has certainly left the building.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden amber hue, with three fingers of puffy, weakly foamy, and broadly bubbly ecru head, which leaves some approaching avalanche lace around the glass as it gently sinks away.
It smells of dank pine needles, peppy mixed citrus fruit - orange, pineapple, Texas red grapefruit, and lemon - bready caramel malt, a soft earthy yeastiness, and more muddled, if pleasantly so, tropical fruit notes. The taste is grainy, bready caramel malt, a softened Pine-Sol astringency, some blood orange and pineapple core fruitiness, yeast that has seen better days, and a further, yet still hard to differentiate south-seas hop bitterness.
The bubbles are quite understated in their tame and agreeable frothiness, the body a solid medium weight for the style, and more or less smooth, both hop and yeast still holding sway, it would seem. It finishes off-dry, the varied malt and fruity hoppiness muting out any yeast resurgences, for the good of all.
I half expected to smell smoke when I opened this, but thankfully, that was not the case - what we have here, is one of the better examples of this blending of styles that I have come across - hoppy, in an enjoyably complex manner, malty, sure, and not too yeasty at all. I don't usually say this, but, yeah, I could really go for another one of this BELGIAN IPA!

Hound Dog Belgian India Pale Ale from Parallel 49 in collaboration with Yellow Dog Brewing. This is part of the Brews Brothers Collaboration mix pack - It pours a rich golden colour with a thin white head. The nose is hop forward, a once mix of citrus and earthy notes. There is some caramel and malt sweetness there as well. The taste has some of the same, tropical fruit notes that give way to a floral hoppiness, that finishes of with a nice bitterness. There is some yeast and spice in the middle but it kinda surfs through the palate. A nicely balanced not over the top hoppy IPA.
